Porcelain Suspension Insulators
Cost-effective porcelain Suspension insulators for low voltage distribution lines, service drops, and secondary connections. Reliable insulation for distribution networks.

Suspension Insulators for Distribution Systems
Suspended insulators are composed of insulating parts (such as porcelain or glass components) and metal fittings (such as steel feet and iron caps) through bonding or mechanical clamping. They are mainly used to suspend conductors in overhead transmission lines and achieve electrical insulation between the towers and the conductors. According to their structure, they can be classified into two types: disc-shaped and rod-shaped. Among them, disc-shaped suspended insulators are formed by connecting metal chain links in series. High-voltage lines mostly adopt ball-and-socket connection structures for convenient live-line replacement, while low-voltage lines use slot-type connection structures. A single insulator disc is suitable for low-voltage lines, and when connected in series, it can be adapted to higher voltage levels. For example, a combination of six 11kV insulator discs can be applied to 66kV lines..
- For voltages up to 500kV
- Compact and lightweight design
- Easy installation and maintenance
- Cost-effective solution
- Available in various sizes
- Weather-resistant porcelain
Types of Suspension Insulators
Common Type
Also known as the umbrella type, it is used in power transmission lines for alternating current.
Disc Type
Mainly have two types of connections: ball socket connection and slot-type connection.
Bell Type
With a relatively long under-umbrella edge, which can achieve a large creepage distance.
Straw Type
The surface is smooth without any edges, with a streamlined structure and excellent self-cleaning properties.
Porcelain Suspension Insulators for Electrical Distribution Networks
Suspenion insulators, also known as knob insulators, are widely used in low voltage distribution systems for supporting conductors on poles, crossarms, and other structures. At Changsha Rich Power, we manufacture high-quality porcelain Suspension insulators that provide reliable electrical insulation and mechanical support for HV distribution Lines.
Applications of Suspension Insulators
Suspension insulators are commonly used in:
- Secondary Distribution: Supporting service drops from utility poles to buildings
- Primary Distribution: Insulating conductors on distribution poles
- Guy Wire Insulation: Isolating guy wires from grounded structures
- Communication Lines: Supporting telephone and communication cables
- Railway Signaling: Insulating signal and communication lines along railways
Advantages of Porcelain Suspension Insulators
The disc-shaped suspension porcelain insulators for high-voltage overhead lines (hereinafter referred to as tempered glass insulators) are used for insulation and fixation in high-voltage overhead lines. They are usually connected in series to form insulator strings and are used on lines of various voltage levels. Insulators are divided into two types: ordinary type and anti-pollution type. The anti-pollution type insulators are generally used in areas with severe industrial pollution such as coastal regions and metallurgical and chemical industries.
Manufacturing Quality
Our Suspension insulators are manufactured using high-grade electrical porcelain with controlled alumina content. The manufacturing process includes precise forming, high-temperature firing, and quality testing to ensure consistent performance. Each insulator is tested for electrical and mechanical properties before shipment.
