Fuse Cutout Components

Fuse Cutout Components – Complete Protection for Distribution Networks

Fuse cutout components are critical overcurrent protection devices used in overhead distribution systems. They consist of three main elements: the cutout body (porcelain or polymer), the fuse tube (fiberglass), and the replaceable fuse link.

Cutout Body
The insulator body provides mechanical support and electrical insulation. ASIAPOWER offers both porcelain and polymer cutout bodies. Porcelain bodies offer superior tracking resistance and UV durability for coastal or polluted environments. Polymer bodies are lightweight, vandal-resistant, and ideal for areas with high mechanical stress or ice loading.

Fuse Tube
The fuse tube is the arc-quenching chamber. Manufactured from high-strength fiberglass braided with epoxy resin, it withstands repeated fault interruptions without cracking. The inner bore features an arc-extinguishing lining that rapidly cools and deionizes gases, ensuring safe fault clearing.

Fuse Link
The fuse link is the replaceable current-sensing element. It contains a precision silver or tin alloy element calibrated to specific time-current characteristics. Standard types include K (fast), T (slow), and Q (dual-element) for coordination with downstream devices. Current ratings range from 1A to 200A, with voltage ratings up to 36kV.

Applications
These components are widely used for protecting pole-mounted transformers, capacitor banks, and lateral feeders. ASIAPOWER supplies complete assemblies or individual replacement parts, fully interchangeable with major brands including Cooper, AB Chance, and Hubbell. All products comply with IEC 60282 and ANSI C37.41 standards.
