The GW4-12(17.5/40.5) series outdoor AC high-voltage Isolator switches are suitable for installation in outdoor AC power systems with a frequency of 50Hz. The rated voltages are 17.5KV and 40.5KV respectively. They are used to open and close the circuit when there is voltage but no load on the line. The product complies with the requirements of GB1985 and other relevant standards.

The GW4 Series is a premier outdoor double-column horizontal swing isolating switch designed for AC 50Hz power systems with rated voltages of 12kV, 17.5kV, and 40.5kV. These switches are engineered to provide reliable circuit isolation in high-voltage lines where there is voltage but no load current.

Featuring a robust two-column design, each phase consists of a base, supporting insulators, and a conductive system. The horizontal rotation mechanism ensures a clean, visible break in the circuit, meeting the strict safety requirements of GB1985 and IEC 62271-102. The silver-plated “finger-type” contacts provide low contact resistance and excellent anti-corrosion properties, making this series ideal for substations and heavy-duty distribution networks in all weather conditions.

Normal Service Conditions

  1. Altitude: 1000 – 3000m.
  2. Ambient temperature: not higher than +40°C and not lower than -30°C (not lower than -40°C in frigid areas).
  3. Wind pressure: not exceeding 700Pa (equivalent to a wind speed of 34m/s).
  4. Seismic intensity: not exceeding Grade 8.
  5. Ice coating thickness: not more than 10mm.
  6. The installation site should be free of flammable and explosive hazardous substances, chemical corrosion, and severe vibrations.
  7. Pollution grade of support insulators: Grade 0 for the ordinary type and Grade I for the anti-pollution type.
  8. This series of isolating switches meets all the requirements specified in GB1985-89 “AC High-voltage Isolating Switches”, IEC129 (1984) “AC Isolating Switches and Earthing Switches”, and IEC694 (1980) “Common Provisions for High-voltage Switchgear and Controlgear”.
